Throughout this three-day in person training, learn from experts and affiliate leaders about project management, NEW HFHI building standards, and resilient building techniques. The program concludes with an opportunity to apply this knowledge through building the walls of a Habitat home at the Capitol Building in Austin. Registration includes: hotel room for two nights, breakfast and lunch all three days, daily coffee, tea, and snacks, and a two-day workshop led by Amy Anselm and FORTIFIED followed by the wall build at the Capitol in Austin. Upon successful completion of the three-day workshop, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from Habitat for Humanity Texas.

Certificate of Retail Management 2022

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are independently owned thrift stores operated by local affiliates that accept donations and sell home improvement items to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds from ReStore operations are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities throughout Texas and around the world. Habitat for Humanity Texas is offering a five-week Certificate of Retail Management to equip individuals to manage and operate a ReStore beginning January 31, 2022. This program is designed to prepare individuals working in the thrift retail industry in areas of supervision, marketing, finances, and business planning, encompassing several essential elements needed for effective management and communication. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a Certificate of Retail Management and 4.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Habitat for Humanity Texas. This course benefits individuals who want to learn about retail operations, while developing leadership skills and techniques. Session Topics: Leadership Human Resources (subsection: Volunteer management) Merchandising General Finances and Budgeting (subsection: Loss prevention and safety) Marketing Instructor: Bobbie Moore, Senior Lecturer at Texas State University, has over ten years of retail experience with a wealth of knowledge regarding retail management. She has worked with JcPenny, Saks Fifth Ave, and Liz Claiborne Outlet, in addition to directing the Fashion Merchandising Career Forum. She also has fifteen years of teaching experience and is certified in online teaching! Course Format: This program is divided into five week long modules, including prerecorded lectures and assignments released on Monday, followed by live Zoom presentations and discussions on Friday from 9:00 am-12:00 pm CST. Participants have from Monday until Friday’s session to watch the lectures and complete the assignments for that week.

Texas Qualified Loan Originator Certification Course – 2021-2022

This course meets Habitat for Humanity International's Qualified Loan Originator requirement for state training. Through learning about the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, SAFE Act, loan processors, MLO Licensing, and related topics, you will receive a certificate of completion.
