This month as we travel to Corpus Christi for the 2018 Lone Star Summit, we are honored to highlight the work of Habitat for Humanity Corpus Christi!
Habitat Corpus Christi has been working tirelessly to rebuild their city after Hurricane Harvey. With the addition of a brand new Executive Director, Carol Gomez coming on early this year, they have ramped up their community partnerships and received significant donations from the McComb Foundation and from United Way to do disaster repairs. Since April, Habitat Corpus Christi has repaired 9 homes and are working on repairing 3 more homes for families in their community. They have received a 100K grant from the Coastal Bend Community Foundation to launch a new Home Preservation Program in March. As if this wasn’t enough, Habitat Corpus Christi hosted their first Brush with Kindness last month!
But Habitat Corpus Christi knows how to have fun too. When partner families come in to sign their partnership agreement, they are surprised with a house shaped cake from the Board President. What a sweet tradition!
Habitat for Humanity Corpus Christi combines hard work with heart, and we are so proud to serve you!
