One of the key roles for Habitat Texas is its role in advocating for home in the state legislature. Part of that is actively monitoring legislation and educating policy makers on its impact. Part of it is the research we need to support our efforts and to provide resources for affiliates to support community advocacy and grant writing.

Examples of past research and advocacy events include an economic impact study and research on healthcare and homes, in addition to the 2019 Capitol Build.

For 2022, Habitat Texas is hosting the second Day at the Dome Capitol Build to construct the walls of a Habitat home for a local Veteran and his wife who are raising their three grandchildren.
