TDHCA’s Amy Young Barrier Removal Program Workshops Announced

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) will be hosting a two-day Amy Young Barrier Removal Program Workshops in:

Austin: September 29^th– 30^th, 2015

Fort Worth: October 8^th– 9^th, 2015

El Paso: October 15^th– 16^th, 2015

All workshops will begin at 8:30 AM and end at 4:30 PM daily.

The AUSTIN Administrators Training Workshop on Tuesday, September 29th and Wednesday, September 30th will take place at the:

The EL PASO Administrators Training Workshop for Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th will take place at the:

We encourage all current and prospective Administrators, including supervisors, intake staff and inspectors/construction project managers to attend. The workshop is free.

* Day One topics:

Steps of a Program Activity, from Intake Application through Final Inspection and Draw submission, in detail.

* Day Two topics:

The Initial Inspection process, writing a Scope of Work and Specifications (including the new Energy Efficiency requirements), calculating a Cost Estimate, managing the Construction Project and conducting a Final Inspection.

While not required, we welcome you to bring your own laptop or tablet with Wi-Fi connectivity for the training.
