A new class of the ACCES executive leadership program, designed exclusively for Habitat leaders, will be starting in September and two spaces have come available. Please see a note from Sue Henderson below about the program. If you are interested in applying, please contact Krista Padgett right away at kpadgett@habitat.org.

Dear Affiliate Leader,

In the hectic world of Habitat, it’s often difficult for an affiliate leader to set aside time for professional and leadership development. We all tend to make those opportunities available for our teams, but not for ourselves.

I’m encouraging you to make an investment in yourself by participating in a proven leadership development opportunity available exclusively for Habitat leaders – Achieving Collaborative Capacity through Executive Success, or “ACCES” for short.

Here’s a bit of information about the program:

What/When:

ACCES is an executive leadership program designed exclusively for Habitat Executives by HFHI and the Institute for Nonprofits at North Carolina State University. This unique program helps executive leaders (first two tiers) of Habitat build leadership capacity at the individual, organizational, and community level. The program is lauded for its user friendly format offering a majority of the learning sessions online throughout the semester, with bookended face-to-face sessions in the state-of-the-art James B. Hunt Library on the NC State University campus in Raleigh, NC and access to professional coaches who help you apply the information to your current world. Ask a previous participant about their experience by contacting Chris Howell at kpadgett@habitat.org

Scholarships up to $3,000 are available, depending on affiliate size. Aid with travel costs is also available. All scholarships are offered on a reimbursement basis to the affiliate.  The link to the application form, along with testimonials and important dates, can be found here:

Testimonials from former attendees:

“This experience was instrumental in developing me as a Habitat Executive Leader.”- Tammy Lawrence

“I changed so much as an ED, as a leader, and as a person. This class opened up new concepts, ideas, and ways of working. I feel I will be much more successful as a leader due to what I have learned at ACCES.”- Sandy Folan

“ACCES opened my eyes to ways in which I could work with others to solve problems more effectively.”- Jeff Porter

“This course has made me a stronger leader, giving me some tools to take our affiliate to a stronger position in the community.” – ACCES participant, Class of ‘16

“Great program that will improve your: individual leadership capacity, organizational capacity, community capacity.” – Patrick Hurney

I hope you’ll carefully consider this opportunity. Investing in yourself is one of the best investments you can make. By investing the time to develop and expand your own gifts and talents, you increase your ability to serve others.
